The last band I photographed before 2011 dropped the ball was The Supervillains. In a word, this show was cool. Here’s why:
Singing drummer = Cool
Party band = Cool
Amped up doses of rock, reggae and ska = Cool
Cover of Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)” = Cool
The Supervillains concert at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale = Super cool
Lighting at this show cooperated most of the night. But even if it hadn’t, the smokey haze on stage and throughout the venue was enough to keep me mellow and in focus.
