Nicko McBrain and friends served up a tasty concert at his Rock n Roll Ribs restaurant on a warm Saturday afternoon in October. His band, comprised of seasoned rockers as well as some talented young musicians new to the scene, belted out a powerful set of classic tunes. Their setlist included songs from Iron Maiden (if you don’t know already, that’s his band — and they’re arguably one of the best metal acts of all time), The Who, Thin Lizzy, Jeff Beck, Deep Purple and Mott the Hoople. When Nicko wasn’t behind his kit pounding the drums, he was front and center regaling the crowd with stories from his past. He is a truly gracious host and undeniable rock and roll legend. This performance definitely left me hungry for more from Nicko McBrain and his bandmates.
