Marduk’s Voices from the Dark tour cast a shadow of metal blackness over the Culture Room that enveloped the standing-room only crowd. From “Serpent Sermon” and “Throne of Rats” to “Temple of Decay,” the tunes were a blasphemous triumph of profane irreverence with plenty of attitude to match. As far as appearances go, they’re not deceiving here. Marduk is not the kind of band that gets invited to play sweet sixteen parties.
