Lords of Acid brought the Pretty in Kink Tour to Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for a night of sexed up rock and roll. Fetish fans and deviants squeezed into the venue decked out in skin-tight latex body suits, gimp masks, devil horns and various states of undress to let all their inhibitions run wild. The show also featured performances by Genitorturers, Orgy and Little Miss Nasty along with Gabriel and the Apocalypse.
Minneapolis, Minnesota’s Gabriel and the Apocalypse opened the show with a gritty set fueled with plenty of goth angst. Lindy Gabriel, the band’s founding frontwoman, set the scene for an evening of kinky music with a provocative in-your-face performance. Along for the on-stage romp were bandmates Jake LaCore (guitar), Figgles McGee (synths/samples), Joey Connelly (guitar) and Zach Williams (drums).
Little Miss Nasty put the crowd in a sexy good mood with two alluring bad ass burlesque shows. These sirens put the pretty in kink as they danced to some of today’s hottest music. The nasty girls’ bawdy striptease showcased their agility and flexibility. Their visual performance tantalized concert goers who were eager to see more of less.
Death pop group Orgy kept the kink going with a mix of electronic rock and industrial metal. Lead singer Jay Gordon is the only original member, but the guys in the band played like they had always been part of the party. Their set featured hit songs “Stitches” and New Order cover “Blue Monday.”
Genitorturers want you to know one this: they’re “The World’s Sexiest Rock Band.” Their raw, raucous performance left little doubt that they are worthy of the self-proclaimed title. Influenced by hard-core punk rock, Gen Vincent and her band of torturers completed their music with a captivating stage show.
The accessory of the night was a strap-on that Gen proudly wore. There was also a miscreant clown whose manhood was taunted with a pair of scissors. A towering Jack Daniels drinking devil got some oral treatment during the concert. And a masochist used a grinder to shoot sparks off his codpiece. In all, it was the kind of set that would make fans of the band feel right at home.
Electronic music act Lords of Acid dropped a sexually explicit concert on Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and got trippy with fans at Culture Room. Led by Praga Khan, the Lords delivered all the debauchery that made them industrial heroes in the sexed up music scene. Marieke Bresseleers is now the frontal focal point of the band. She was at ease singing the explicit lyrics and got naughty with the crowd. Lighting was dark for the set, which added sinful moodiness to the songs.
Guitarist Sin Quirin and bassist DieTrich Thrall proved they were rock stars with every note they played. And the fact that they looked like seasoned musicians was perfect for the sex-crazed women pushing their way closer to the stage. Drummer Galen Waling kept the beat going with a steady rhythm while Erhan Kurken made his guitar scream in synch with the fans’ excitement.
This concert was definitely not for the sexually timid. But for those whose sensibilities could never be offended, it was a night to get off on.
