In This Moment brought The Hell Pop Tour II to Revolution Live for a night of in-your-face alternative metal and theatrics. Alluring frontwoman Maria Brink used her siren-like vocals to immediately call out to the fans, getting them to thrash and crash in the pit. Songs like “Daddy’s Falling Angel” and “Blood” showcased Maria’s venomous ferocity behind the microphone, while songs like “Into the Light” allowed her to show a softer side, with haunting lyrics that cast an eery chill across the venue. Lead guitarist Chris Howorth shredded his seven string and sent dreadlocks flailing in a dizzying display of hair whips. In addition to his timekeeping duties, drummer Tom Hane went old school with a kick ass drum solo. Bassist Travis Johnson donned an iron mask to thump out notes on the low end while rhythm guitarist Randy Weitzel powered his way through the concert with screaming riffs.
The band dealt out heavy doses of rock all through the night — but there was also a stage show spectacle, complete with sexy syringe-wielding stagemates and an erotic scene where Maria Brink was handfed grapes and then given a kiss. Quite fitting for a true rock goddess.
