Sin City rockers Five Finger Death Punch (also known as 5FDP and FFDP) walloped the fans at Monster Energy’s Fort Rock with a blistering set of hard-hitting tunes. Co-headlining the Monster Energy Stage, these rambunctious boys proved just how bad ass a metal band can be.
Fast and furious guitar riffs amped up an overly-excited crowd. A sea of drums gave way to the sounds of crashing cymbals and beats pounding deep into the souls of all festival goers. Heavy bass lines did major damage to dental work with rhythmic precision. And the vocals had all the ferocity of an angry pit bull growling for rock -n- roll supremacy — but with more tenacity. All combined, 5FDP proved to be an unstoppable musical force ready to run roughshod over any one or any group foolish enough to get in their way.
Five Finger Death Punch has a tradition of inviting fans on stage to help them perform. During Southwest Florida’s Biggest Rock Festival, it was a little girl named Olivia and her father. She was asked to help Ivan Moody sing the words to a song filled with expletives, she declined in a shy little voice — but it was still a big time rock -n- roll moment enjoyed by all. Those @#$%in’ lyrics will no doubt continue to ring proudly for that family long after the World’s Loudest Month has been silenced.
The band is out on the road in support of their most recent album: The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 2. FFDP has released five studio albums.
