Evanescence played all the hits and deep cuts from their 21 year career during a sold-out concert at The Fillmore Miami Beach on November 13, 2016.
Amy Lee, the band’s founder and lead singer, relished her role as the frontwoman and star of the stage. Adorned with flowing strips of fabric attached to her arms, she moved around with feisty fluidity. Though definitively rockers, the group is certainly no stranger to the goth genre. Blue lights and darkness created a somber moodiness that was in contrast to the hauntingly power vocals Amy Lee belted out. Anyone looking for flashy colors washing over the guitar, drum and bass players would have been disappointed. But their ability to play the tunes that made the group a GRAMMY award-winning band left everyone satisfied.
Despite numerous lineup changes, Evanescence is not likely to fade away anytime soon. The their multi-platinum music continues to cater to longtime fans while winning over new ones with every album release. If you’re lucky enough to get a ticket during the fall tour, you’ll understand why their shows sell out so quickly.
