To say Eric Johnson is a guitar virtuoso would be a huge understatement — so I’m elevating him right to the top of guitar-god mountain. His concert at the Culture Room was a scorching set of killer riffs, infectious grooves, screaming solos and marathon jams. From “Fatdaddy” and “Cliffs of Dover” to covers “Power to Love” (Jimi Hendrix) and “Proud Mary” (Creedence Clearwater Revival), Eric’s fingers ran melodically wild up and down the neck of his six string. Even during the songs without vocals, Eric Johnson’s guitar still sang beautifully.
